WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO WANT TO BECOME A
MISSOURI FFA OFFICER?
My motivation to become a Missouri FFA Officer came from what I witnessed in my first several years of membership. While I was able to witness a number of students excel, I also saw how so many of them did so with little or no support along their journey. That’s where I saw Missouri FFA state officers step in to provide that missing support for those students as they prepared to reach their goals. It was the friendships and support given by those state officers helped develop confidence and ambition in FFA members. I want to assist, motivate and inspire others the way those state officers did me.
WHO IS YOUR HERO AND WHY?
My hero is Jesus Christ. That might sound kind of generic, but I don’t know of anyone else who suffered and died on a cross for the wrongdoings of the human race. Soldiers and first responders are similar. To put your life on the line for another is pretty cool and respectable.
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE?
My plans for the future include attending Missouri State University to obtain degrees in Agribusiness and Agricultural Communications. I may attend law school in addition to this gain skills to better protect the agriculture industry. I hope to work in agricultural advocac, helping to educate consumers or with youth in agriculture to encourage the development of leaders. I also plan to expand my current cow-calf operation.
WHAT IS SOMETHING UNIQUE OR INTERESTING THAT FEW PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT YOU?
I am a huge music fan. I have music playing 110 percent of the time, whether it’s on my phone, my radio, or my vinyl stereo. I play the guitar and piano and go to concerts as often as possible. I am also a third generation auctioneer and am addicted to 5 Rain Gum and Mexican food.
ADVICE TO FFA MEMBERS:
Take advantage of every single opportunity available to you. Don’t stress yourself out over the little things. Always make good decisions because they will affect you for the rest of your life. Remember, even in the tough times, someone does care for you, and everything happens for a reason.
